So I’m pretty much addicted to wanting every guitar I see. More often than not, the price is way more than I can afford or even imagine affording some day in the future. So, since I can’t buy the guitars I want now, I figured I’d just build one that has feature I like from other guitars all combined into one less-expensive guitar. So that’s what I’ve been doing.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been eBay-ing and Craig’s List-ing like an addict (more than usual anyways). I’ve purchased a body (Stratocaster style) a loaded, pre-wired pick guard and a neck. I think I have one or two small things to get but I can get those locally.

So the body I got is all black. I already have an all black guitar and do not want another one. So I’m going to paint it myself. I’ll have to sand it down, prime it, paint it and lacquer the crap out if it so it’s nice and shiny. What will it look like, you ask? Well, so far I’ve only told Kristi and it’ll probably stay a secret until it’s nearing completion. If you’re lucky I’ll change my mind and give you updates along the way but not sure yet. As far as colors, it will include orange as the main color, which should make my sister happy. I’m super excited about this project, as I’ve never “built” a guitar before. Lucky for me though I have an uncle that knows a ton of handy guitar skills that I will most likely consult in this project.
